A Better Way…

I found Tim Kaine’s speech sort of hilarious after seeing what he said during the campaign. I guess he hopes people from the other 49 states won’t know that. The “eyebrow” made an appearance the whole time throughout the speech. At one point, I think both of them went up.

The “A Better Way” theme I think has several meanings. It probably means large tax increases like the ones he proposed here in Virginia a week ago. It may also refer to Mark Warner as being the “better way” in 2008. I was surprised that he never mentioned Mark Warner by name dozens of times as I thought he most certainly would.

Tim Kaine’s speech is keeping with the Democrats “we have a plan” but not providing the plan. It is like they are providing a box (their plan), but not filling (the details) the box with anything.

In short, I predict Tim Kaine’s speech will not be remembered by most.

The speech won’t be remembered, but the eyebrow will! Haha. Seriously, his “We have a better plan” but-won’t-tell-you-what-it-is speech is just the symptom of a larger problem, a major political party without a single new idea since the 1960’s. This doesn’t mean the Republicans are in the clear though, now that they have had the majority, they have to have something to show for it. The ideas are there, check out this Townhall point-counter point:

You won’t find such a civil exchange of differing opinion on the far left. Even on sites considered far-right (www.vdare.com), you will find thought provoking persuasive arguments you’d never find in the emotionally charged, but intellectually void, arguments from the left. Kaine’s speech was just unnecessary reinforcement.
Ultimately, Republicans in Congress, specifically the Senate, need to be reminded that power is a means to an end, and not an end itself, if the conservative agenda is to prevail.
