According to this report from the RT-D Governor Warner’s vehicle was involved in a fender bender. Warner’s suburban was struck by a state employee who had cut across three lanes of traffic looking for a state government building.
Governor Warner was in the vehicle and apparently got out and spoke with the state employee to […]

Today I received by E-Mail a letter from Jerry Kilgore thanking all of his supporters. The letter is dated today, November 30.
In reading the letter it seems to me that Jerry Kilgore is planning to run again for something. The tone of the E-Mail is optimistic. He even has this quote: […]

Creigh Deeds filed a recount petition yesterday in Richmond Circuit Court. A preliminary hearing is schedule for December 6.
A promising sign came from Deeds yesterday that this will not likely be a long drawn out litigated process. Deeds said: “”I want people [voters] to decide the outcome, not the courts or General […]

Is this Kaine’s Transportation Plan?

November 28th, 2005 8:35 PM by Adam

The Richmond Times-Dispatch has an article about a City of Richmond transportation system bus crashing into the administrative offices of VDOT this morning. The bus also grazed the Patrick Henry Building, which is the new Governor’s Office location and temporary General Assembly meeting place for 2006.
One can only wonder if this is part of […]

Strange Times at the Supreme Court

November 28th, 2005 11:34 AM by Adam

According to this article from CNN, part of the marble facade on the front of the Supreme Court building fell off near a line of visitors this morning.
As you recall, back on Halloween a light bulb blew in the chamber during an oral argument creating a momentary panic because of the loud sound.
Could it be […]

November 28th, 2005 1:00 AM by Adam

Today is the day the Virginia State Board of Elections will meet (Agenda, PDF format) to certify the results of the November 8th General Election. I predict shortly after the close of the meeting Creigh Deeds will file (probably today) his petition for a recount in the Circuit Court of Richmond.
According to the SBE […]

Virginia’s Constitutional Officer System

November 28th, 2005 12:27 AM by Adam

The way the government is setup in Virginia is unique when compared to most states. I have often called Virginia’s government system “efficient, but archaic.” On the whole I think Virginia does much better in government administration compared to most states.
In every county and independent city (there are exceptions) of the Commonwealth voters […]
