A few hours ago I arrived here in Richmond for the Republican Convention. The Convention starts on Friday and ends on Saturday with the nomination of candidates for Governor, Lt. Governor, and Attorney General. Also a new RPV chairman will be elected.
Bob McDonnell is unopposed for Governor. Current Lt. Governor Bill Bolling is being challenged […]

UPDATED: Sources say now that both deputies were fired by the sheriff. Official sources have not released any names yet. However, from the talk on the street there is a pretty good idea in the community of whom they are.

WOW! Here is a story about an alligator being found on the road here in Saltville Friday morning. A driver spotted the 2 foot alligator on Highway 107 and tried to miss it, but ended up running it over. Game officials are now trying to determine how the alligator got to Saltville.
Very interesting indeed.

I’m glad to see that the Frederick Team wasted no time hanging the under new management sign at RPV Headquarters. SWAC Girl reports that several key people resigned on Monday including Executive Director Charlie Judd, the Treasurer, CFO, and a couple others also resigned. Former Chair Hager has also cleaned out his office.

Jim Gilmore is the GOP nominee for Senate. Very close vote, about 80 votes difference.
Voting is nowunderway for a U.S. Senate nominee.
This one is going to be close. The Marshall camp has an impressive showing.

Yesterday in Smyth County General District Court, Judge M. Keith Blankenship of Wythe County was found guilty of reckless driving and refusing a blood/breath test.
